Accessories!

One of my many goals during Easter weekend was to retrieve my old sewing box, and any leftover stash fabric that remained. Among the stash was a leg from an old pair of faux-leather pants.

What? It was high school; I was thirty pounds lighter and with a thousand times less taste and judgment.

Anyway, the pleather was the perfect medium for something I've been meaning to make: a messenger bag for Eva.

I drafted the pattern myself (it's all rectangles, not that hard) and set to work:

Under construction. My wee sewing machine did far better with the pleather than I had anticipated.

The finished product: a bit plain, but workable.

A clasp from a broken watch band makes a good miniature buckle.

Eva modeling her new acquisition, which she will one day fill with chocolate and world-saving gadgetry.

And with this, I have officially cleared out my latest backlog, hurrah!

She looks like she adores her new bag. A perfect compliment to her outfit.
